GABI THE GREAT

I was born in Auckland 1963. When I was three I moved to Christchurch with

my Mum, Dad and my brothers Jacob and Scott We had to get there by yacht.

When I was four I tried to succeed five times making bacon and eggs for breakfast

and the last time I finally did succeed. From that point on I knew that cooking was

my future.

My grandfather died of cancer when I was six and my old, wise, Italian grandmother

came to live with us. She taught me how to cook the best pizza in the world. I started

at St Andrews school when I was six and because I wanted to be a pizza maker I got

Picked on. Most other people wanted to be things like an architect or a policeman.

When I was in Year 13 I won a competition for cooking pizza. When I was 19 I left home and went to live in Sumner. At the age of 22, I took my grandmother's

Passion for cooking pizza and I went to Naples, Italy. At the Supremo Pizza School

I went to the top of the class after just two weeks.

I lived in Italy for two years and from making pizza I got quite a lot of money. After

That I went back home. When I was 28 I climbed Mt Everest to deliver a pizza. When

I was half way up I lost two toes on my right foot and three on my left foot. At the

top I delivered the pizza, but on the way back down I was caught in a blizzard and buried in

an avalanche, 12 meters deep. Fortunately a snow dog came to save me. Although I suffered

I would still do it all again, and that is how mad I am on pizza!

When I got back from Mt Everest I got married to Sophie Downs. We moved to Richmond

Hill, and had three children the twins Henry and Charlotte who are 12 and Claire who is eight.I also have a border collie named Scamper.

 Since returing from the Leaning tower of pisa. I have been working towards making my own leaning tower of pizza restraunt. 

On Wednesday the cycle safety people came to talk to years five and six about safety when riding our bikes. At first we stayed in the class talking about why we wear a helmet and guessing some of the bike parts. Then the people with bikes and helmets went out for a safety check, which luckily I passed.  After that we went back to the class and cycle safety was over.
