The New Zealand Army's top shooter sergeant Chad Hally, an instructer at the army's school combat school in waiouru, on wednesday won the Queen's medal award for being the best shooter in all of the New Zealand army for the third time.

Hally won his first award in 1996.He competed again this year for his dad, a shooting enthusiast.Sixty soldiers competed for the right to wear the medal with the official NZ army uniform.The cheif of the army, Major General Lou Gardiner, presented the award. 

The Queen's medal matches are held during daytime,using the current Steyr assault rifle.

My goals for Term Three are:

Literacy- My deeper feature goal is *** because ***. My surface feature goal is to always use capital letters when I am writing names, countries and towns, eg. Jackson, New Zealand and Christchurch.

Numeracy- My maths goal is to get better at skip counting to help work out my 5x table and my 3x tables.

Social Goal- I need to put more focus into my work by listening what the teacher tells us and in maths I need to put more speed into my work so I get finished on time.
